Review and Giveaway: Transformed Scarves and Accessories

Giveaway is now closed.  The winner of the Cozy Boa Scarf is Kristi!

Do you know what “Upcycling” is?  We all know what “Recycling” is but what is “Upcycling?

Upcycling is the process of converting something that is old or used material and turning it into something that is better and often times more beautiful.

This is exactly what Transformed Scarves and Accessories does.  Transformed takes regular old t-shirts and transforms them into beautiful scarves, bags, and other accessories.  Their motto is: “Don’t just dress to impress, dress to bless!”  Don’t you just love that?

I first heard about Transformed through the blog, Miprip: Finding Joy.  I am so glad that I was introduced to Transformed!  As I learned more about them and its owner, Jessica Fortner, I became encouraged by Transformed‘s vision and passion for helping others. Inspired by the verse taken from 2 Corinthians 3:18, Jessica’s etsy shop features dozens of beautiful, upcycled scarves, bags, and cute mini plush owls.

“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”   ~2 Corinthians 3:18

Jessica’s passion to help and bless others has led to a partnership with her friend’s non-profit, Afrocka.  Transformed gives 70% of their profits to Afrocka!

“Afrocka is passionate about “advancing love, destroying injustice, and sparking revolution” in the continent of Africa. That mission statement takes on many forms such as digging wells in areas devastated by drought and providing educations for children living in slum villages.” ~Jessica Fortner

I also love what Jessica says about Transformed, “When it’s all said and done, Transformed aims to do two things: provide the customer with a beautiful, one-of-a-kind product, and advance love, destroy injustice, and spark revolution.”
